Ive been playing online poker for about 2 years. I first remember loading $50 into my Partypoker account… boy was I nervous. Were they gonna clean out my Visa card??? Is this online poker thing for real??? These were questions I asked myself. After about 1 hour on a  .50/1 no limit table, the next question I asked myself was how do I cash out of here. I thoroughly enjoyed the experienced that day only to lose the money I had won plus my initial deposit the very next day. Since then, I continued to play on Partypoker for at least another 8 months with some success in tournament play. I then decided to switch over to Pokerstars and I hated it! I then opened an account with Fulltilt Poker and rather enjoyed playing on that site. I preferred the layout and I guess I just felt a lot more comfortable than what I did on Pokerstars. I did OK on Fulltilt cashing out a couple of times after some handy tourney results.

Make up your mind!!!Yep, I made another switch. This time it was back to Pokerstars - thanks to the pressure from a friend.  I persisted for a while and I now believe it’s the best all-round site. Great variety in both cash and tournament play.

I was playing mainly tournaments with the odd cash game thrown in. The problem was I never had any direction. I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing in terms of managing the money in my bankroll. Back then I would have let’s say $150 in my Pokerstars account and jump straight on to a $33 tourney or a $22 rebuy with about 4 rebuys. You don’t need to be Einstein to work out that was..well….silly! To be honest I’m not sure why or what was the main reason was for my change but I decided to start my own tracker. Mate, this thing was a basic spreadsheet but greatly assisted me in managing my bankroll. I recorded most of my play on this spreadsheet..rougly 400 rows of data.

I commenced a trial similar to that of Chris Ferguson. Only I started with $2. I managed to turn that in to $2640 over about 4 months. Unfortunately a bad run of cards and TILT got the better of me and I proceeded to lose most of it (about2K). I'm still proud of my achievement however disappointed TILT got the better of me..

I'll be back playing the cash games shortly on another mission. The one HUGE difference is I am now a CA member and am starting to realise what I can really get out of this wonderful game called poker. I look forward to contiually updating my blog with hopefully some good news in relation to my new mission.
