The Sydney branch of the Australian Poker Association (APA) reopened tonight with a $400 tournament which drew many of Sydney's best players, including several Card Academy members.

1st prize was a guaranteed $20k and 81 players began the event. Card Academy would like to congratulate Scott Smith (Punty), who managed to keep his composure all day to outlast the field, including Nick Nicolaou who busted out in 10th place. Scott got heads up and even though he was behind in chips managed to get his opponent to agree with an even split of the cash for a $12k payday. Scott was battling an illness all day making his performance even more impressive. Once again, well done Punty!
